Subject: WTC Rebuilding #182:Snow Reminder,Other Items

The New York Metro site has a poll on the two official
finalist designs that allows us to choose "Neither"...

http://www.newyorkmetro.com/news/articles/wtc/proposals/finalplans/

It has had far fewer voters than the Neither-dominated New York
One poll, but at last check Libeskind was leading with Neither last.

Again, look to make your views clear that your objection is
the lack,not excess,of occupied height!...we don't want our
demand for improvement in how we build tall to be spin-doctored
into apparent opposition to building tall.

http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/68889.html is a story
with outspoken megamemorialist Lee Ielpi complaining about PA
infrastructure plans utilizing the "bathtub" area.

TOMORROW AT 1 PM EASTERN is the Gotham Gazette Java-chat with
Tara Snow, the community-and-government vice president at the
"Leave Manhattan Destroyed Committee"...try to show up(link is
at http://www.put.com/wtc/ of course,"Gotham Gazette Java chat
room") and remind her what the community wants...tall towers!

A couple of items from the NYCS board...
it is NOT reasonable to assume that Monica Iken had a voice in
the choice of finalist designs...she is NOT on the committee that
chose them, she is on a committee strictly related to the memorial.

As to appealing to Donald Trump...I sent an email to his
general counsel on September 12th 2001 urging that they
explore options for helping to ensure that the new towers
are no shorter than the old.I got no response, and early in
2002 Trump seemed to have made him his mind that it would
not happen...he was telling the Village Voice how sad it
was that New York *would never again* have buildings as giant
as the Twin Towers.

I wouldn't count on his backing any projects without his name
on them, and after all his 74-year-old property there, the now
"Trump Building" at 40 Wall Street, would have very hard competition
from giant new towers at the WTC site.

Alex Butziger recently had a pro-Towers article accepted by
the parent entity of NYCS,the theopinion.com site.

I hope to be able to report significant progress on our
architectural competition quite soon.

See you on the 111th floor on 9-11-11!

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
