Tomorrow is the BuildingsNY event referred to recently...
not exactly down our alley but we will have people there for
Silverstein's speech.

It has been suggested that we try to influence Silverstein's
preferred architect,David Childs.Given his dislike of the
old Twins and willingness to bend to different demands,it
may not be much use,but we write to Libeskind,after all!

His firm,Skidmore,Owings,& Merrill,is in the meantime associated
with a 1900-foot-tall project in Dubai...I wonder if he's doing
his partners a favor by making sure the New York project does
not rival it for world's tallest!

The rally June 28th should start at our usual time,11 AM,
if anyone is making up fliers to distribute...I commend the
offerings made at NYCS though they're not exactly what we
would design from scratch...flier-designers should contact me
for advice on details.

records Bloomberg getting on board for a distinct
memorial for the emergency personnel at the site...
it is certainly appropriate that the basic purpose
that brought someone there on 9/11/01 be recorded
in lists of names...airline passengers,rescue personnel,
or those in the buildings.

The fdnyfirefighters.com people want to go further,
with badge numbers and unit identification...this
seems excessive to me.But anything that can stymie
the official process is helpful.

Meanwhile the PA seems to be talking to Regenhard's
group to head off their lawsuit about building codes.
Westfield's lawsuit may be harder to deal with and
the cash-strapped government hard put to buy them out.

Erik Weingold (lawyer and NYSTC director) agrees with
me that it's hard to hang a lawsuit on the basic foolishness
and incompetence of the official planners.If politicians and
bureaucrats were liable to be sued for bad decisions,we'd
probably have most government positions go empty!

Nonetheless,we must seek to overturn the appalling
decisions of the official planners by what means are
available to us,and NOT allow ourselves to believe
we have already lost,which is the only way we can
possibly lose.
