Subject: WTC Rebuilding #324:WRITE TO PBS!...and more


At the recent Reppublican National Convention,
Mayor Bloomberg unintentionally made a statement
that ought to come true...that they had laid the
"tombstone",not the cornerstone,of the absurd
"Freedom Tower".

Tonight on PBS the Frontline documentary series ran a show
on the design process by a Kevin Sim,who according to the
Associated Press was "granted special access by the Libeskind
camp"...the viewpoint certainly shows throughout.

Of course both Libeskind and Childs,whose disputes over the FT
are highlighted,are arguing about different WRONG ways to rebuild
the WTC when what we need is new Towers unambiguously reclaiming
the former scale,which neither man's design honestly does.

Nowhere in his focus is the public pressure for better than what
the officials cared to offer mentioned.

Let's put our views squarely in front of those who presented this
show to us,NOW!

Three opportunities exist and I urge AS MANY AS POSSIBLE of you
to TAKE ADVANTAGE!

produced Libeskind's plan proved the need to discard it even
before it put it beyond all doubt by selecting a plan as bad
as his!

THE MORE PERVASIVE OUR KIND OF REACTION PROVES THE BETTER...
WE CAN'T AFFORD TO LET THESE OPPORTUNITIES SLIDE!

Let them know that ONLY new Towers that are STRONGLY evocative
of what was destroyed and represent NO retreat from the former
scale adequately honor those who were murdered...that the official
guidelines that produced Libeskind's plan were a prescription for
disaster and they and those who wrote them can not be excluded from
the process fast enough!

If you want to tout Sieb,Shen,Turner,Gardner,or whatever good plan
go ahead...feel free to mention the World Trade Center Restoration
Movement and its website http://www.put.com/wtc/ or Team Twin Towers
or other activism,but SPEAK WITH YOUR OWN VOICE.

We expected the permit for our September 11th demonstration to have
been issued by now,and hope it will happen very soon.Of course I will
provide updates and hope as many as possible can join us SATURDAY
MORNING,SEPTEMBER 11TH OPPOSITE THE CENTURY 21 ON THE WTC SITE SIDE
OF CHURCH STREET.

We are obliged by PA rules to apply for a 4-hour period beginning
at 8 AM,but this should be conveniently simultaneous with the official
events that we can feed off traffic for.

Last time I should have mentioned a Wall Street Journal article by
well-known architecture critic Ada Louise Huxtable that Cecil Shepherd
sent me a link to...the beginning is something we should all take note
of:
	"The conventional wisdom has it that the desire to build
	tall received a serious setback from the World Trade Center
	disaster.As usual,the conventional wisdom is wrong.The reality
	is that we are building higher than ever,with building in
	construction,or on the boards,that dwarf everything we know
	now."

So WHY is this not happening on the very site where it is MOST
symbolically important that we show we have not been terrorized
out of making it happen?

Fall they did,but rise they must!

Let's all do our part to keep our cause out there and make clear
we WON'T go away...
