#370 the officials came out with a press release

detailing Pataki's and Bloomberg's efforts to appease Silver.

As I put in this mailing's subject line,they propose to spend our
money to destroy our dreams...their objective is to ram ahead with
their bad ideas at taxpayer expense while praising their errors to
skies better filled with new Twin Towers.That text is classic press
release,with quotations assigned to Pataki,Bloomberg,Whitehead,and
Pryor.They say how they are being "aggressive" and "bold" in causing
"transformation" that IS NOT APPROPRIATE!
RESTORATION is what is needed!

It seems Silver has not been budged by this into approving the
West Side Stadium,BACK HIM with letters to speaker@assembly.state.ny.us
and tell him implementing the Libeskind plan instead of the Towers people
prefer is the last thing his district needs!

The last two days there have been no Towers-related
letters in the Post,while the Daily News has two good ones in

At this point we need letters COMPLAINING about the new
official downtown plans being more of the same bad ideas
(the press release praises slamming Greenwich and Fulton
Streets all the way through the site,which SPECIFICALLY
CAUSES the truck-bomb vulnerability of the FT AND the
other three office towers proposed for the 16 acres).
Say this needs to be reconsidered in order to site the
buildings a safe distance from streets and there should
be fewer,taller buildings!

the wishes of a private developer to put 90-story 1 New York Place

Pataki has been virtually breaking laws on the MTA,keeping board
members whose terms have expired on and holding up opponents' nominees
in order to force deals through (not just this one,but the stadium and
others).

One New York Place,if built,would have people looking DOWN at Libeskind
towers from its upper floors!

pressing Silver for approval of the Stadium and implying Bush's

WE NEED SILVER TO KNOW WE WANT THE RIGHT THINGS DONE DOWNTOWN
AND HE NEEDS TO STAND UP TO THE PEOPLE WITH THE BAD PLANS!

Although they have added no new comments to their website since
May 20th,the poll at

has Twins 82% to FT 17% in yet ANOTHER demonstration of
what the voters really support.

At MSNBC,Shuster and Olbermann haven't mentioned new Towers
for a while...if you've got time,remind them it's still on our
