After all the recent wrangling about the plans,
NY State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver

who represents the district including the WTC site,
is holding a hearing ON MAY 18 AT 10:30 AM AT THE NEW 7 WTC.

I got the time from his office...they have yet to call back
as to whether members of the public will be allowed to speak,
or whether he will only be calling officials to testify.

WHETHER AS SPEAKERS OR AS AN AUDIENCE,
it is important that we do ALL WE CAN to shift the discussion from
"Why isn't our wonderful Libeskind plan under construction already?"
to
"Why are these people who proved their incompetence by selecting the
Libeskind plan still allowed to obstruct a new World Trade Center we
can be proud of?".
The more people we can get there the better,the press needs to hear us
and will certainly hear others.

I'm glad to report that Lenore Skenazy of the Daily News
(lskenazy@edit.nydailynews.com) has been sending brief
supportive replies to those who wrote to her thanking her
for advocating a scaled-back memorial and diverting memorial
funds to safety equipment dedicated to the memory of the dead.
So far the Daily News letters page (voicers@edit.nydailynews.com)
has not printed letters addressing either side of that.

Meanwhile,the Libescheme's godfather Governor Pataki,
to be gone from office at year-end but still determined to
inflict that urban blight on future generations,is setting
records for being unpopular:

We must be united in our determination to get better rebuilding
than the officials want to give us...we owe it to the free world.
As our opponents fumble we must be firm and not falter!
